William's Whitetail Deer Hunting in South Carolina offers exceptional Free-Range opportunities for whitetail deer. With deer populations at their highest in the state of South Carolina and the most liberal seasons in the southeast. Early Whitetail Deer Hunting gives rifle hunters a rare opportunity to harvest a Trophy Velvet Buck starting August 15th each year. Rifle Hunters will enjoy a long Deer Hunting Season which starts August 15th and includes using your rifle over the South Carolina Rut starting October 9th, breeding October 16-26th, second rut with breeding around November 13-24th, and the whitetail hunting season ending January 1st each year.
Stands are strategically located throughout the hunting property around fields, in swamps, hardwoods, and pine stands to ensure a variety of hunting opportunities and views throughout our properties. Most deer hunting stands will have food plots, corn feeders, established bait pile or in some cases both. Mineral supplements and protein feeds are also used to ensure healthy free-ranging whitetail deer populations with quality racks.

Each game hunter has his or her own equipment preferences. Therefore, we ask that you bring the following with you for your hunting experience at Williams Wildlife: Camo clothing, Snake boots or quality hunting boots, ThermaCell or other mosquito repellant, small flashlight, seat cushion, rain gear, deer grunt and or rattling antlers, shooting sticks, your favorite weapon no less than .243, and please be sure you have sighted in your rifle or bow prior to arriving. We do have a range, but we prefer to use it as a must use tool and not for sighting in a new rifle and scope combination. That much work needs to be done before your arrival as too much shooting lets the animals know you are coming.
After your arrival and a good night's rest we start with a quick continental breakfast and set out for the deer stands about one hour before sunrise. Normally we stay until 10 am unless everyone has agreed to stay longer. We come in and have a brunch or late breakfast followed by a resting time for a nap and or strategic planning for the afternoon hunt. Soup and Sandwich for lunch around 1-2 and then out to the stands again by 3 for a sit until dark. After our return to camp, we meet at the mess hall within 15-20 minutes of arrival for a hardy dinner and a review of the days hunting events in preparation for the next day's hunt plan.
We are low pressure for hunter success and our daily planning. If the group decides to hunt longer, we are all in! The more time in the field the more chance for success.

All youth hunters under the age of 16 can hunt with very limited restrictions as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. On our 4-night 3-day hunts all youth hunters can shoot one buck 8 point or better, one buck any size, two does and two free range hog for the same pricing as our standard whitetail only hunts. We do this so your child can have the opportunity to really enjoy the experience of harvesting game. Your child will have a qualified guide with them the entire day, teaching them calling and perhaps rattling skills depending on the time of year. We make sure that they have plenty of snacks and activities while in the stand. That's right, activities, we have been keeping children busy and quiet in the stand for years. It's amazing how much you can do with a pad of paper and a pencil. We can also provide video services for your child's first hunt for a small processing fee, so you don't miss any of the action.
